A.J. Kramer Scholarship Fund

The A. J. Kramer Scholarship Fund (Fund) honors A.J.’s memory by helping others to continue their educational pursuits. The Fund will provide annual scholarships to qualified students from Independent School District #682 (Roseau High School) in their junior or senior year of post-secondary education pursuing health and/or physical education teaching careers or pursuing an athletic coaching certificate.
A. J. graduated from St. Cloud Teachers' College in 1943 and took his first teaching position in Roseau in the fall. He enjoyed teaching physical education, health, general business, modern history, geography and driver's training. He coached basketball, golf, track, cross country, baseball, football and one game of hockey. He was the athletic director and community school director. He was a member of the Minnesota and National Education Association. He was inducted into the Minnesota High School Coaches' Hall of Fame, Minnesota High School Basketball Hall of Fame, Minnesota State Athletic Directors' Hall of Fame and Roseau Community School Hall of Fame. He was at Roseau School for 39 years!
He was very active in all aspects of his church and community; Lion's, Knights of Columbus, Pioneer Farm, Star City and Roseau Fest Committees, and the Roseau Four Seasons Center.
A. J. Kramer enjoyed life to its fullest and loved his students nearly as much as his own children.
